This brand new 3 day workshop is being offered in the Spring and Fall of 2019.

MAY 9, 10 & 11, 2019

SEPTEMBER 12, 13 & 14, 2019

Rarely do we attempt larger scale pieces, especially in encaustic.  Yet the trend and demand lately has been towards larger works of art.   Working large is for the curious and explorers among us.  We are thrilled to make this Larger Than Life workshop  available to you.

Going bigger requires a new way of thinking and a new approach to brush strokes and mark making.  The challenge is not just one of art processes but also one which involves a new consideration of subject matter.

Please join us at the incredible Studio Aha in the heart of the Blue Mountains this Spring and/or Fall for this wonderful new workshop developed and taught by Christina Lovisa.

Christina is a teacher and artist of unsurpassed imagination, skill and talent.  Anyone who has taken a workshop with Christina, always comes back for more.  She is a generous and supportive leader always pushing herself and her students to higher and higher levels of creation.

These workshops are expected to sell out quickly and because large space is required, the classes will be limited to 10 (including teacher and facilitator).

INVESTMENT: $830 Canadian (+ tax) per session *Teacher Kit and lodging not included

Christina Lovisa, a native to Canada’s Capital city, Ottawa, is a self-taught! contemporary, mixed media artist. Working in a broad range of mediums, from! encaustic (beeswax) to acrylic paints and ‘found object assemblage’, she! produces a varied range of artworks suited to her client’s needs or simply to! satisfy her own primal instinct - to create. Her paintings have been in shows and! galleries in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and New York City. She has an! international clientele, which includes Cirque du Soleil and the Michel Jackson estate, who represent both her original works and art prints, taking them to to clients around the globe.

Christina’s inspiration is intrinsic to her being. She feels she’s merely a vessel, translating the currents of expression that flow through her into tangible pieces to be experienced. These creations are produced through an organic, collaborative merger of tactile elements. Transparencies, wax, flame and blade help to cut through the surface and expose the weathered stories within. She is constantly expanding her knowledge of different mediums, looking to find further ways to release the creative flow. The spontaneity of endless ideas guides her hands.
